Rolling papers
by RAW
RAW Rolling Tips are unbleached, chemical-free filter tips made from natural hemp fibre. They slot into the end of your joint to give it structure, keep herb out of your mouth, and let you smoke right down to the last bit without burning your fingers. One booklet, 50 tips — enough to keep you rolling for weeks.
Rolling without a tip is like building a house without a foundation — it sort of works, but everything's a bit wobbly. A proper filter tip gives your joint a solid base to roll around, keeps the end open for airflow, and stops soggy bits of herb from hitting your tongue. That last point alone makes tips worth it.
We've sold RAW products since they first landed in Amsterdam, and the rolling tips are one of those small things that make a genuine difference. The card stock is thick enough to hold its shape once you fold it, but thin enough that it doesn't feel like you've jammed a cardboard tube in the end of your joint. You can feel the texture is slightly rougher than bleached alternatives — that's the unprocessed hemp doing its thing. No chlorine, no dyes, no chemical processing. Just plant fibre, pressed into a booklet.
The honest limitation? These are flat tips, not pre-rolled. If you've never folded a roach before, there's a small learning curve — maybe your first two or three will look a bit rough. But that's part of the craft, and you'll have 47 more to practise with.
We get asked this a lot behind the counter: "Why not just rip a bit off a train ticket?" You can. People have been doing it for decades. But there's a reason purpose-made rolling tips exist.

According to a study on the elemental composition of commercially available cannabis accessories, the materials used in rolling tips can vary significantly in their chemical makeup, with whole-unit analysis revealing trace elements from inks and coatings on non-purpose-made card (PMC11064008). That's a solid reason to use tips actually designed for the job.

Complete your setup with RAW Classic King Size Slim rolling papers — same unbleached hemp philosophy, same clean burn. A RAW rolling machine (79mm or 110mm) is also worth grabbing if you prefer a tighter, more uniform roll every time.
We've watched thousands of people roll joints in the shop, at events, and on our own time since 1999. The single biggest upgrade most rollers can make isn't fancier papers or a different grind — it's using a proper tip. A good filter tip transforms a floppy, wet-ended joint into something that actually smokes evenly from start to finish. RAW tips are our go-to recommendation because the hemp card doesn't unravel mid-smoke the way thinner alternatives sometimes do.
One thing worth knowing: the booklet is compact enough to slip inside a standard RAW rolling paper pack. We keep one tucked behind the papers at all times. Sounds minor, but it means you're never caught without tips when you need them — and you always need them.
If you want a step up in convenience, RAW also makes pre-rolled tips that skip the folding entirely. But honestly, hand-rolling your own filter takes about 5 seconds once you've done it a few times, and these flat tips let you control the diameter. Prefer a tighter draw? Roll it thinner. Want more airflow? Go wider. That flexibility is why flat tips remain the best-selling format we carry.
Natural hemp fibre — no wood pulp, no bleach, no chlorine. RAW uses hemp so no trees are involved in production. The tips are also vegan and GMO-free.
50 tips per booklet. Each strip is pre-cut to approximately 60mm x 18mm, ready to fold and roll without any trimming.
Practically none. The unbleached hemp card is flavour-neutral, which is the whole point — you taste your herb, not the filter. Bleached or ink-printed card from random sources can leave a noticeable papery taste.
Tips give your joint structure, keep loose herb out of your mouth, improve airflow for an even burn, and let you smoke right to the end without burning your lips or fingers. They also prevent the mouthpiece end from getting soggy and collapsing.
Technically you could, but we wouldn't recommend it. After a session, the tip absorbs resin and moisture. At 50 tips per booklet, there's no real reason to reuse them — just fold a fresh one.
Make 2-3 small zigzag folds (like a concertina) at one end, then wrap the remaining flat section around the outside. The zigzag creates internal structure that blocks herb without restricting airflow. It takes about 5 seconds with practice.
Same concept, better execution. "Roach card" usually means any stiff paper torn to size. RAW tips are purpose-made from unbleached hemp at a consistent size, free of inks and chemical coatings — a cleaner option than ripping up a random bit of card.
